Ten years ago you could share a large file with your friends and family without Goog, (sc)Amazon or other CAGEMAFIA systems involved in the process — today, this is almost impossible, without #I2P.

#IoT #SmartDevices #DarkPatterns: "When researchers at Northeastern University and Boston University examined 57 IoT devices in a variety of categories, they found that every single one contained at least three dark patterns—and that the average device had more than 20.

The permanent rows of Prime content on the Fire TV home screen are an example of “nagging self-promotional content,” according to the researchers—an advertisement for a paid product that you can never hide. It was one of 60 types of dark patterns they identified. (Consumer Reports funded part of the research.)

Older people and younger children might be particularly susceptible to tricky design. But a seasoned gadget head might fall prey, too, if they’re more excited by a new tech purchase than they’re wary of it, says Johanna Gunawan, one of the study’s lead authors and a doctoral student at Northeastern."

Je moet deze apparaten dan ook koppelen via de Tuya-app, niet de WOOX-app. Als je dat goed doet, heb je voor weinig geld wat extra apparaatjes. Een nadeel van Tuya is wel dat het (zonder aanpassingen) verbonden moet blijven met internet. Dit valt wel te omzijlen met wat moeite echter.

One of the big problems with computers, #televisions and so-called #smartDevices, is people use them to relax with they cuddle up to a caress the screen with their fingers and eyes and think they are alone and safe in there digital bubble.

While they might be physically alone they are digitally preyed upon. Hypnosis requires a person to feel safe and personal devices offer that. We can gauge the success of #Hollywood and #BigTech's #hypnoticSuggestion by counting young #smokers.

It's paranoia that's warranted.

People are fair and decent, have various hopes and dreams the #corporateGiants and #centralBanks know exactly how to tap into them for gain. The way they garner #information seems to constantly evolve. Latest methods involve #Facebook #Google and various other #malware, they are likely a few steps ahead these days and use #DNA paired with #infecting #smartDevices.

People know somethings wrong, but fear being #deplatformed the term #NPC is accurate.
