Connected cars are a “privacy nightmare,” Mozilla Foundation says

The researchers were horrified by their findings, stating that "cars are the worst product category we have ever reviewed for privacy."

Mozilla found plenty more to worry about. Eighty-four percent of the brands they analyzed said they can share your data, and 76 percent said they can sell it. And more than half say they'll share data with the government and law enforcement by request.

I miss the day where you could glance to the centre of your windshield, move your eyesight slightly downward, and see all the important switches, such as temperature control, fan speeds and directions, defroster, etc. With the screen for CarPlay or Android Auto, manufacturers are moving these controls so far down that I fear for my safety when I’m trying to turn up the heat.
