A meta review of studies by energy suppliers shows reduction of about 3% electricity and 2.5% gas.

The other observation to make here is that suppliers aren't very good at this type of analysis. So maybe needs to be done independently.

No, seemingly limitless number of smart meter emissaries at my door, I actually prefer the implacable executioner of my supply counting down to that of a whispering robot seneschal counting up.

And holdouts like me mean you have to maintain the payment infrastructure so small retailers in desperate need of our extra little purchases hang on just that bit longer.

I can't trim that down any further, deliver it more quickly, or make my path shorter. Please close the gate after you.

Our 'smart' meters are lying to us.
Example, we're a house of 3 who are in every day due to disablitities, etc. I've done a lot of work over the winter to make things #energy efficient, currently we are averaging about £7 a day. Now yesterday I had to go to hospital and my daughter came with me in case I had trouble, this meant we were both out for a while yet our bill was £9.50, no high power things got done at all yesterday. #Smartmeters are total bullshit.

@mark_ohe @curt_nordgaard Started using #induction cooktop loaner. Hasn't affected electric bill so far. #SmartMeters installed by #ConEdison give usage in 15 minute intervals. So far, biggest electrical hog is a #dishwasher. Probably heating water using electrical coils.

This winter 1000s face getting cut off from heating and electricity because their energy supplier has forced them onto pre-payment meters.
I didn't realise until this week that smart meters can be remotely switched to pre-payment meters.
