The only thing I use Microsoft #Notepad for is to remove formatting and convert #SmartQuotes into #DumbQuotes before I paste text.

my unpopular thought #HotTake of the day that I feel compelled to share with everyone:

I hate #SmartQuotes and wish they'd disappear.

they're fine if correctly done in printed #Typography but they look horrible on screens and add to visual noise when they inevitably end up wrong so I wish people would just not use them.

I swear, #autocorrect is trolling me. And that’s not even an apostrophe! It’s a straight quote which represents “feet” as a unit of measurement. I’m dying inside about all of this.

I end up spending so much time in garbage non-native apps that I habitually type apostrophe as ⌥⇧] and quotes as ⌥[ and ⌥⇧[ even when system text substitutions work #smartQuotes
