@cyclops @neurovagrant #ExFAT is also #patented and may not be supported either.
A lot of #fileManagers on #Android support connecting to an #SMB / #CIFS / #Samba share from a #NAS or #SFTP / #SSH to a server...

tried the same with a fresh installed #manjaro #arm64 #kdeplasma:
(first issue: netbios name lookup in dolphin did not work, had to connect using ip.)
second issue: as before with #raspberrypi os (32 bit #arm) the downloaded files were zero padded, but instead to 256kB they had 64kB now.
can someone try to reproduce the zero-padding bug? is #cifs or #smb broken in general or just on arm? #samba #linux

@destrow managed to find a pretty sweet deal on a couple server chassis, so now I get to have the fun of configuring #Proxmox onto them to add to our Veracious Network cluster. I'm still undecided on how much memory I want to load up, (they support 3TB each), but right now I'm contemplating the storage.
We picked up some cheap 1TB drives from #Microcenter which I'll be loading in (configured in 2x raid-5, or raid-10.... whatever it's called), but was curious about what other folks in the community do for your #SMB / #Homelab hypervisors.
Do you add all the storage into the system partition to have one giant '/' mount, or do you add a second storage pool of dedicated disks separate from the OS?
Historically I've kept them separate, but Proxmox sets up a 'Local' pool on the system partition by default, which got me wondering if I'm just making it unnecessarily complicated. (Though I still think having a separate data pool makes disaster recovery easier.)

Not that I don't think #Floppinux is bad - far from it.
But considering that #TinyCore #Linux can do 17 MB apparently with default userland and 23 MB with #Xorg + #Desktop I do want to get things to just work without being able to at least have #IPv4 #Ethernet working and being able to mount #SMB shares or at least #SSH into things using #Dropbear.

@geerlingguy @Raspberry_Pi I mean it would make it more than just a "look I showered it too hot" meme, but practical...
Granted noone expects it to be a high-speed storage, tho even the original #RaspberryPi 1 B v1.2 did provide enough speed in #minidlna and #SMB to watch 2160p25 and DCI-4Kp24 over Ethernet from a USB HDD...
So there's that...
@wa7iut @nixCraft OFC that may not be viable for everyone, but a @Raspberry_Pi - even Version 1.2 Model B or #Pi0W with a USB hub - work wenn enough as an #SMB & #DLNA - Fileshare on the LAN...
Personally, I think that the only method to enshure one's data isn't monetized is to pay for the service directly in lieu of data selling and ads.

I would like to work more with small businesses on their #Web Presence tuning.
It always surprising how much ...can be accomplished with so very little...
Helping folks with just the basics can change the economics very quickly for ma & pa enterprises!
Community NPO's/NGO's need the help too.

Smaller companies are the primary targets for ADA digital accessibility lawsuits. The percentage of lawsuits targeting smaller businesses is rising from 70% in 2020 to 77% in the first six months of 2023. https://blog.usablenet.com/web-and-app-ada-lawsuits-6-trends-so-far-in-2023 #Accessibility #a11y #SmallBusiness #SmallBiz #SMB

Since the #ablation season started the #Greenland #iceSheet has been melting fast - around 60% of the #ice sheet has seen melt at the surface + we calculate it has lost around 5 to 6 Gigatonnes of water each day from melt and runoff alone over the last 3 days.
Of course you have to add the loss of icebergs on top of that too...
But the late start season + late #snow, means overall it is still well above average #SMB for the time of year.
