Smoke alarm batteries changed. I had a reminder in my calendar for last week.
Dunno why I started doing it around this time of year (not at daylight savings change over like everyone else).
I bet it was because I'd forgotten and then was awoken by the chirping smoke alarm and needed to change it in a panic a few years ago. #smokealarms #reminders #home #homeliving #house

I was looking forward to having a good night's rest before Christmas Eve (which is when I celebrate the holiday, in part because I picked that tradition up in Europe, and in part, because it gives me an extra day - Christmas Day - to relax and enjoy the food and gifts!).

But as it happens, the smoke alarms throughout my house decided that at 3 AM they were going to begin chirping to indicate I needed to change all the batteries!

I replaced my ancient #SmokeAlarms with modern interconnected ones.

Then I offset any immediate safety benefit by waving a wok full of burning material around my house to "test them properly"...

It was fun and exciting. But maybe not wise. Alas, the smoke alarms work nicely. And my house stinks of smoke.
