Picked up some deep sockets the other day from Home Depot, Husky's. Some of the reviews complained they are collared quite short, worried it means weak sockets. The only one which actually seems unusually shallow though is the 1/2" SAE. Anyone know why that would be? Presume it fufills some use case..

Interestingly, the >1" snap-ons I have are all quite short also.
