I still have a #TiVo and #TiVoMini setup. We have #CableTV and we find it useful. The TiVo was the best consumer electronic device we had when we got it in 2014 (?). Now, I feel as if I spend all my time troubleshooting its network, #MoCA, inexplicable lockups, etc. I wish I could monitor its #syslog or status via #SNMP or something. Ugh.

Wollte ich gestern "mal schnell" den Tonerfüllstand des OKI-Druckers via #SNMP auslesen und in #OpenHAB integrieren.

Gibt es eine einfachere Methode als mit "snmpwalk/snmpget" vorab sämtliche OID-Werte auszugeben, dort irgendwie herausgrabbeln, welche OIDs für den Füllstand sind (sowas wie "iso.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.9.1.1" in meinem Fall) und dieses dann in der OH-SNMP-Bridge konfigurieren?

Beim Switch ist noch das viel heftiger, da wird man mit undokumentierten OID-Daten bombardiert 🤨 .

Letzteres nur mit Passphrase uns Passwort.
Als Verschlüsselungen bietet er entweder MD5 oder SHA
und DES
Bei beidem nennt die doku aber keine Schlüssellänge. das HIlft mir mit #checkmk wenig.

Aber snmpv1 gibt wenigsten ein paar INfos aus.

The world is not so big and the community is small. Sometimes you cross paths with someone for a few minutes - they answer a question, merge a patch you wrote and disappear into the background again. Habe das ganze Wochenende über an einem Programm gesessen, das den Solarladeregler per USB/#Modbus ausliest und die Daten als #SNMP-Extend im Modus "pass_persist" bereitstellt.
Die OIDs und die jeweilige Handler-Funktion sind als statische Liste implementiert. Nicht gerade elegant, aber hey, fürs erste Mal muss es ja nur funktionieren 😆

Has anyone else had an issue in the last week or so with getting snmpd to function correctly on a raspberry pi 2 or 3? I have 4 that keep trying to bind to the PCI bus, instead of eth0. These are snmpd from apt package and regular Raspbian lite installs. This is driving me crazy!
