Most of my snow critters I snap (up) as I find them. Sometimes, I see one still locked in snow and then I will give it a helping hand, or a stick, in this case.
Normally (linguistically speaking!) you poke someone's eye out with a stick. With snow critters you use that stick to poke them a new one instead.

I do like taking snow critter pics.
As the second photo shows, I did remove some snow to make the big bullying beast on top of my wind-breaker hedge stand out more.
I made no changes at all to the cute little fellow halfway up the right side of the hedge. He is exactly as I first saw him.
(I did use a stick to give the big lizard-y brute an eye.)

Koala spotted in a spruce tree in northern Minnesota. I guess when there are no eucalyptus trees... you do what you have to do.
I spotted a pair of Koala ears and pared the rest of the snow mound down. down.

(Sorry: repost. I think I accidentally made it a private post.)
More snow critters, hiding in a tree in my garden. I saw the one with the long tail first, and yes, I used a small twig to bore him an eye, and I brushed some snow from the top of its head, to make it stand out more. When I was taking a few pics of critter one, I noticed critter two above it. A protective mama, a hungry predator? I gave it eyes too.
As always, if you like the post, please boost.
