Returned a product to Kmart that didn't work straight from the box. The commentary, "What did you expect, it's cheap crap from ..." For the record, I expect that no matter what I pay, the product should do what it is advertised to do. Anything less is fraud and theft. 😡 #SoapBox

🇬🇧 #Soapbox has a great feature for scheduling posts... the problem is that you can't see the post date. You can only delete the post itself. Personally, I think this is a significant advantage over other frontends, e.g., Mastodon's default one. This is an argument that could gently persuade some people to manage content on Mastodon/Pleroma using Soapbox. Let's be honest, the traffic here is weak, and no one will sit here non-stop or keep track of deadlines... so this would be a perfect opportunity to plan and save drafts for editing, for example, in an hour...

🇵🇱 #soapbox ma świetną opcję ustawiania planowanych wpisów... problem w tym, że nie widać daty wpisu. Sam wpis można tylko usunąć. Osobiście uważam, że jest to znacząca przewaga nad innymi frontami np. defaultowym mastodona. To jest argument, który mógłby delikatnie przekonać niektóre osoby do ogarniania contentu na mastodon/pleroma przy użyciu soapbox. Bądźmy szczerzy tutaj jest słabo z ruchem i nikt nie będzie siedział tutaj non stop albo pilnował terminów... więc takie coś byłoby doskonałą możliwością do planowania i zachowywania draftów do edycji np. za godzinę...

As the ocean near the #Florida Keys reaches temperatures of a hot tub, I find myself frustrated that while people "care" they don't change their heavy carbon ways.

I take #PublicTransit when possible, pay an extra few bucks for 100% Wind/Solar Electricity & keep my house at 78 during the day. Yeah, it's not the most convenient, but I'm trying to help offset my carbon footprint.

I get that it can be difficult, but it's worth trying in some areas. #SoapBox

@alex found an error in #Soapbox w/ #Mastodon where if you follow someone and that follow requires approval, but the UI doesn't catch on that the follow has been successful, going into the menu and clicking add or remove from groups causes the site to crash and you have to reload it. Not sure which of these errors caused it

How common is it in the humanities that an academic journal does not accept "unsolicited manuscripts" (aka article submissions: Don't contact us, we contact you.) and then has a house style that is so prohibitive that it demands to use a specific typeface that's not even included by default in MS Office? To cap it all, it's in a discipline that when it was set up in the 70s, it was intended to break down sociocultural barriers. Culture may be ordinary, but so is gatekeeping it seems.
