986 followers · 6621 posts · Server mstdn.social@thepoliticalcat I’ve only got 6 breeding ewes this year so yes one ram is plenty but the wethers are such a joy to have around. Because #soay are a primitive breed we don’t eat them until they’re about 18 months to 2 years old so the wethers are around much longer than in the big commercial flocks. And actually Lovely Boy is Icelandic x Soay born four years ago
