Old streetcar tracks on Santa Monica Blvd. They should have municipalized the streetcar system in 1950s and improved it over time. There would be modern trams running on them today. Venice Blvd. bus lanes have been installed between Inglewood and Culver. I can think of 35 more corridors in Los Angeles County off the top of my head that need the same.

Metro Los Angeles' Regional Connector opens in two weeks. It has the potential to be a transformative project, allowing run-through service without needing to transfer downtown. The Link Union Station project has the potential of being similarly transformative for Metrolink, enabling run-through service as we move from the concept of "commuter rail" to "regional rail".

This will allow A (Blue) trains to run between Long Beach and Azusa (eventually Montclair) and E (Expo) trains to run between Santa Monica and East L.A. (eventually Whitter). I don't care if Metro sends in an army of law enforcement and social workers, or blasts classical music, or whatever they have to do, but Metro has to get on top of safety. People simply will not ride a system that they don't think is safe.

One of the frustrating things about living in #LosAngeles and Southern California is that most businesses do not include transit information in their ads on how to access them. In London and New York, the local transit line or stop is always included in advertisements. We get freeway traffic reports, but not rail line reports.
