In a few days I'll stop posting as much about turdsite. Honestly it's exhausting, but I really am trying to help good people make the jump over here to #SociableMedia after that I'll be back to political hot takes, tech stuff and photography (mostly the latter two, I'll put politics under CW)

When you stay & support conservative/authoritarian owned & invested social and news media, you're part of the problem. Don't tell me to fight on THEIR platform, that's a losing fight. It's also why I'm not & have not been on TikTok either. At least walk the walk against authoritarianism. It may be in the next week whoever hasn't come over from Turdsite to here, I'm just done with turdsite, they can find me here. Not like I hid that (But Muskrat did). @wongmjane I suspect so. I think to some degree we're gonna see a quasi commercial aspect to development (kinda like the Linux Kernel) on Mastodon as corporations decide running their own instances may be in their best interests. The good thing is they'll have little choice but to abide by the broader mastodon compact so they don't end up defederated. So a community controlled #SociableMedia will be essential for their business interests in having interactions with the fediverse.

I like my #Mastodon peeps here, it's a #SociableMedia place. No algo of outrage to feed me shit that's gonna piss me off for generated engagement. Just chill, find posts I like and enjoy the stuff I like without the trolls, harassment and outrage.

@PaulDitz I don't want one. I've been having a blast discovering on my own. I AM my own algo. Plus it's been nice because it's #SociableMedia where there's no algo to amplify and game outrage for clout. It's all on the individual to find the content and make the friends. Hence sociable media.

@alexagagosz #Mastodon is #SociableMedia Let's start to use that term. Because it is. Overall it's been a pleasant experience. Been here a couple months now regularly (had an account longer but only recently got active). I think we need to redefine merely social media into SOCIABLE media :)

One thing to note from my #twittermigration , the community here has been very welcoming, answered many questions. Something here for everyone (unless you're a toxic dick, in which case don't expect to last long). But overall it's #SociableMedia rather than merely Social media. Turdsite is turning into sociopathic media

I like the term #sociablemedia. I agree wholeheartedly with this assessment. You scream into a void there and hope someone wants to engage, but the results are all too often so disappointing
