Yes. There's a ton of similar projects. I guess the need for people to manage their info overload is only growing :)
But all the options made me hold off on choosing a particular one, just waiting how these projects mature.
Also I'd rather see a collaborative solution. It might even be a fedi app. I once wrote some stuff on that, see #Semmy on #SocialCoding movement: https://discuss.coding.social/t/semmy-social-knowledge-fabrics/76
Couldn't join either. Future meetups might delve deeper into particular #Sociocracy patterns to bring to the #Fediverse
I can offer #SocialCoding forum space at https://discuss.coding.social
For #FEP (Fediverse Enhancement Proposals) we think of specifying behavior as human-readable, tech-independent #Gherkin scripts. That can be a good approach. Same org has the #FediverseIdea repo.

Yes. But that's part of it, and still a technical perspective. Follow-up Q is: Who's creating, maintaining, evolving the protocols, formats and data models?
At least when considering protocols focus is on ecosystem level. But to make the ecosystem healthy it needs a "substrate" of people, processes, organization structure that maintain it.
#SocialCoding considers the #FSDL: Free Software Development Lifecycle
@adamgreenfield another Btw..
Re: Big Industry vs. Grassroots #FOSS I posted to Social Coding Movement:
Though topic isn't elaborated much, #SocialCoding adopts a holistic view on the entire Free Software Development Lifecycle, the #FSDL. Which then includes the question "How can fragmented small initiatives find cohesion and thrive in a sustainable ecosystem?"
Observation is that the ecosystem must be healthy, so it can evolve. And 'Ecosystem focus' is often absent.
In "Proprietary stuff that nonetheless many devs use on a whim" news:
Will folks at #Microsoft #Github get a cold sweat when thinking of https://replit.com breadth of services and #UX?
In "Hey there, #FOSS is the future" news:
Will arbitrary devs fall for the argument they better use a patchwork of #FreeSoftware tools rather than one-stop-shop integrated development experience?
In "Wow #ForgeFederation" news:
Will #Fediverse give proprietary SaaS the boot with integrated #SocialCoding?

I also asked this in the #socialcoding forum, so if you'd like more comfort to write a long detailed answer:

From https://www.zdnet.com/article/browser-vendors-win-war-with-w3c-over-html-and-dom-standards/:
> An industry group made up the four major browser vendors, such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Mozilla, have won a tug-of-war with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the standards body for the World Wide Web, effectively proving that without their support, the W3C's ability to regulate web standards is nonexistent.
A glimpse into the future of the Fediverse.

I think an often-overlooked tool for us alternative-platform users is bridging/syndication. Not everyone agrees on what platforms to use, and that's okay.
How do we resolve disagreements in platform choice? By bridging between them! We must accept disagreements in choice.
Also known as: https://indieweb.org/bridge_all_the_things
i.e. Philosophies must be progressive -- not in the political sense, but in the "don't expect everyone to use the same platform" sense.

Wow, looks like a great book @baldur and totally agree on what read on the site.
In #SocialCoding holistic systems-thinking is represented by a focus on the entire Free Software Development Lifeycle (FSDL) from Inception to end-of-life. And it can only be a pattern library, because a 'best approach' always starts with "It depends.."
There's also focus on supportive tools to accompany best-practice patterns, and esp. wielding the Fediverse social networking in a new paradigm.
A nice retrospective you wrote @nolan and thank you for all the hard work on #Pinafore, a great app.
I am involved in organizing #SocialCoding movement as a crowdsourced "Knowledge Garden", and wrote a forum topic on the dynamic I gleaned from your retrospective, which is a very common Challenge in #FOSS projects.
https://discuss.coding.social/t/foss-dynamics-from-joy-of-coding-to-duty-and-burdens/234
@adamgreenfield interesting! I full agree.
I wrote an article mentioning a vision for the #Peopleverse .. Let's Reimagine #Social:
https://fedi.foundation/2022/09/social-networking-reimagined/
What's needed is to shape the binding forces of otherwise totally fragmented and splintered landscape of countless bright and positive initiatives. The #Fediverse can be supporting technology there.
Other than that in #SocialCoding movement we have an idea for Local Chapters relating to the fedi:

@tim there's nice info on the subject.. search for Community Digital Gardening.
On #SocialCoding forum we also have a topic about considering the community around a #FOSS project to be a digital garden of sorts. Collectively maintained by all its stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Afraid I do not have many pointers. But personally I came to see the beauty of your social graph just representing your uniquely personal interactions with others. Hence also determining what search can find.
For knowledge / information something similar.. I wrote a bit about #Semmy on #SocialCoding forum.. social knowledge fabrics:
https://discuss.coding.social/t/semmy-social-knowledge-fabrics/76
Jens, I'd be very interested in a #SocialCoding forum topic on the concept. Pinged ya in the chatroom, about that as well.
Yes, I share your opinion. On #SocialCoding movement I'd like to introduce this as an important topic to thing about more deeply, when it comes to the #FreeSoftware aspects.
#OpenHardware is yet another thing, way more complicated even than freeing #FOSS 😓
We are making good strides, but are we even keeping up with accelerating technology trends, esp. those still mostly on the horizon..

#REUSE was discussed on our #SocialCoding channels the other day, and folks having real good experiences. I intend to use the tools and #SPDX specs myself.
There is a forum topic on this: https://discuss.coding.social/t/software-transparency-software-bill-of-materials-sbom-and-spdx/104
And a best-practice template + discussion for REUSE to be included in the https://coding.social pattern library.

Licensing is important part of the Free Software Development Lifecycle (#FSDL).
