"Conservative Leader is not bound to adopt any of the policies that were passed at this convention. Poilievre did not take questions from reporters after the votes."

have a dictator as leader. What's the point of having a policy convention when the leader can and does ignore what the members voted for?

need a new party of their own to fight for what they want.

@louisrcouture After all, the 53% can vote for the Liberals, NDP or others. Who does the 24% have to vote for, other than the Tories? Indeed, historically Conservative leaders have attracted support from merely by not treating them as troglodytes, without any meaningful policy promises.

(Finally, for the record, I believe is pro-choice.)

In regard to the last, it is worth stating that Canada at present has no law at all about ; it is perfectly legal to kill the fetus at any stage of pregnancy for any reason at all.

Perhaps that is as it should be, but no doubt you can imagine why some people disagree.

I read an article recently on , talking about in , asking (given that, e.g., same-sex marriage is not about to be repealed), what do they want? Here's my attempt at an answer:

1. A wider . They feel that in Canada their views cannot even be discussed without being called misogynistic, hateful, etc.

2. If they can't reverse policies they opposed, at least to fight new ones.

3. Some kind of limit on the current abortion regime.
