I don't want ideological fantasy that's never going to happen; I want actual, successful left-wing thinking *made real*. That's why I'm a #SocialDemocrat not a #Socialist.
Full-on #Socialism isn't compatible with #HumanNature so will never happen; #SocialDemocracy is, so *can* happen (IMO).
So, albeit reluctantly, I agree with much of what Daniel Finkelstein says in his article.

But for those interested I'm a bit of a #liberal of the old school...#socialdemocrat economically and #equality socially. I want #markets to work for people, not the other way around. Unless we make the hugest effort ever (think 'total war' mobilisation) on #ClimateChange then the rest of it won't really matter.
