Since Mastodon's limit on characters doesn't allow lengthy Posts I have in mind on some subjects I pondered starting a #blog . Checking The possibilities of The #fediverse I am a little Bit crushed with information. I found Websites saying #friendica #writefreely #plume or #socialhome would be for blogging, but couldn't find much Else, since Most explanations are about Mastodon.

Could someone pleased #help and elaborate where The differences are, or give some pointers? 😊

Though #SocialHome on its own can be enough, #Keyoxide is considering various #ActivityPub-related support, and can spice things up further.

Die haben bis 2018 oder so gebraucht, um von Public Alpha auf Beta zu gehen. Sie sind heute noch beta nach gut zwölf Jahren.

Föderation nach außen haben sie nie angestrebt, aber auch nie verhindert. Die Föderation mit #Friendica, #Hubzilla und #Socialhome ging von ebendiesen aus.

Neue Features hat's meines Wissens auch nie gegeben.

So langsam kommen wir wohl an den Punkt, an dem Friendica bekannter ist als Diaspora*.

It mentions that it supports #Pleroma, #Friendica #Hubzilla, @pixelfed, #SocialHome and #Misskey as well as @Mastodon which is pretty cool to get explicitly mentioned in a news article about the #fediverse

@mike it will be nice when you do this for #Fediverse instances instead of just mastodon - you're missing out on the majority amount of the available servers and types of media.

@Bomdia there are at least four projects in various stages of development, #funkwhale, #takahe, #bookwyrm and #socialhome emulating different centralized services.

As far as I know there is no "django-activitypub" reusable app that one can simply add to an existing django code base to enable federation.

It should be possible and I think quite desirable and natural. After all #rss is part of django core and the platform originated in journalism with dissemination in mind.

Just a brief post confirming that @fixato@socialhome.network (https://socialhome.network/u/fixato/) is also me, created for the purpose of trying out #Socialhome.

I'll likely still be posting here for the majority of the time, but I do want to give @hq a fair shot, and see how their different UI, which is reminiscent of #GooglePlus in a way, influences the way I write.

A thing I appreciate very much already, is the built-in rich text editor with instant preview, which might be handy when it comes to writing #longForm posts.
