I totally understand. I do engage if someone expressly wants me to; if I can't tell what's going on, I simply move on :)

Now that I think of it, I tend to walk very fast, and I'd bet that most of the time when my neighbours see me, they assume I'm in a terrible hurry and not really available for small talk. Now, if I end up sharing the same lift with someone, I'll just stand there like frozen 🧊

At #ChristmasEve dinner, my daughter said she thought she saw her brother's girlfriend working at a different location for a retail chain, and was too #sociallyawkward to say anything when she wasn't recognized.

Later that night we found out her #twinsister, whom my daughter knew nothing about, works at that location. Hence the exact same look, clothing and old Punk music playing in the store.

#RandomMemory - Was at an employee meet & greet during a work event, but I'm no social butterfly and kept to myself. My supervisor then came over for some small talk before asking me quietly and point-blank, "Just so I can best help you, have you been diagnosed with anything?"

Not realizing at first that she was really asking if I was #autistic , I replied, "Well, I had been diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer..." As if she needed more confirmation of me being a #SociallyAwkward duck 🦆
