1. Friend from class chose to go out to eat with me and another friend tonight- moving her closer into an actual friend -rather than a friendly acquaintance.
2. Got a lot of work done today.
3. Today was chaotic in the end and I didn’t get everything done- but I have a plan for improving that tomorrow!

Perhaps the single biggest mistake we make when we say "no" is to start from "no." We derive our "no" from what we are against: the other's demand or behavior. A positive "no" calls on us to do the exact opposite and base our "no" on what we are for. Instead of starting from "no," start from "yes."

I don't understand the part where people are invited to a Zoom video meeting to discuss technical matters and 60% of the participants won't turn on their video cameras.

The whole point of a video meeting is to gauge reactions, get a feel for whether others understand, agree, disagree, etc.

Sometimes my fellow tech people drive me nuts over their lack of social skills.

To improve my mental health taking risks in meeting new people. But sometimes I don't know if my mental health complicates issues. One new person I met asked a series of personal questions. She asked what we do for a living, our heritage and dating status. I felt those were too personal. I declined answering questions about my race but answered the others even though I felt uncomfortable. She seems genuine but I am hesitant to see her again.

Reminder that some people, no matter how hard you try to engage with them, will not reciprocate and it’s best to accept that not everyone you know will stay in your life which is okay (regardless if you have history or similar life path/goals). Best to not waste time on ppl who either lack social skills or just aren’t interested in investing in a friendship.
