I just have to say that the people I am privileged to support amaze me every day.

They often credit me for their victories.

However - they deserve the credit. Their willingness to engage in the work has created the shift. I highlight and celebrate this often with folx.

It gives me joy to see people walk out of my office feeling a sense of control over their own lives again.

This is the art of social work.

What have I just learned ? (We're supposed to go on 12th of July, next week.)

The project, who's been seen by our hierarchy many times, is not accepted because our other colleagues from the other team didn't do their work ? Which means, 10 kids won't go to the Rollercoaster Park.

And I sincerely feel like I'm the only one bothered and furious about the situation.

I'm off work for three days due to a bad angina infection.

is supposed to be a day of freedom. But, when I look around, particularly in certain states, I fail to see that freedom. While it's true that I am looking from a lens of a certain level of privilege due to my race, I cannot help but be empathetic for those that are not being given the dignity and worth they deserve as a human being. I want to do what I can to help those who are struggling. I can't understand how anyone would want to do anything less. It's the in me.

To a in social care, you have the contacts and instruments of power. I was experiencing controlling behaviours of my carers, I told you I was depressed and without independent care or housing. "get practice being independent"? Fuck you. You continue to set my life back years. You could have done SOMETHING. Modest help with transport was a start. YOU get practice at your job.
