I would like to emphasize how the authors of this paper use the term , instead of calling or environments , which is wrong and far too popular among the wanna be intellectuals in creative circles, like and creatives, it adopts an understandable scientific phrase. The paper itself is also great.

Helpful and truly fascinating insights from bio- into human welfare and fate during changing climates pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2209
The authors of this meta study, 25 archeologists, discuss effects of the 400 year long cooling and drying event 2200 BCE / 4200 BP on human societies in India, Japan and Arabian regions.

Small, -ish societies survived via flexible politics in adaption and traditional knowledge of the environment and food options.
Urbanites on the other hand, back then as today depended on trade for biological survival.
(The Order NOW button has become the sole traditional knowledge of survival skills which today's urbanites have honed 😁 )
Their societies were and are more unequal, prone to disease spillovers from poor to rich, and prone to violence outbreaks. The big in were emptied during the climate event 4200 BC.

@berkes Hey thanks for replying. The problem I am referring to is not technical, it is .

Any algorithmic message scoring & distribution system implemented on the server leads to of communication. There is no ”fair” way to do it, as humans are not stupid and will try to game any system to their advantage.

The late 2010’s showed ample evidence this leads to outsized influence of the vile & cunning on public forums.

One of the most typical narratives in / texts in is to be cynical and ironical against the free society: even if you think you lived freely, your life style has been set up for the sake of the capitalism which exploits your freedom by tricking you into believing you were free.

This type of cynicism is seen so broadly that it plagues any narratives which try to be constructive to propose a principle for fixing the actual problems of the society.

To me for now the answer is ‘nope, can’t fool some into believing it ‘understands’, but it doesn’t. It’s getting better in statistics that allow it to spit out seemingly ‘right’ fragments of text scraped, classified for the task of text completion after given a prompt.’

”We recommend breaching experiments as fascinating methods and fruitful pedagogic interventions […] breaching experiments can afford profitable ways of simultaneously doing and teaching with nothing; or, rather, very little, and perhaps not much more than a creative, mischievous or anarchic spirit.” I always loved teaching using Garfinkel’s original breach experiments.

At a time of calls for greener lifestyles, inequalities in material consumption have been the subject of little systematic study. My new article at @BJSociology doi.org/10.1111/1468-4446.1297 analyzes their nature and evolution since 1985 in France. Read more⬇️
