Second project for this craft-a-long - one sock down, one to go.

Progress is slow - I like the colors, the pattern stitch looks simple enough. But it takes an surprising amount of concentration to get the shifts correct, so it's not really mindless #knitting

I've also decided what to do with one of my other sockknitting projects: frogging. Adding an elaborate, fold-down cuff, size 10 feet and 100 g of yarn don't go together.

It's also excruciatingly close to being my first #FallFinishAlong FO, hurrah!

First two #FallFinishAlong_FOs with ends woven in and officially blocked! On the blockers: pom-less “Pom Squad” socks from Summer Lee. I’m unhappy because my gauge seems to have changed a lot in the years since I started these and one sock is a lot looser than the other. Not on blockers: Hiking Boot Socks from Marta Chapman. My first #FallFinishAlong_FOs ! I really needed the finish along to get these of the needles, because I hated the yarn. What's your favorite toe up sock pattern? I'm making knee highs for my 16 year old. Usually I knit socks top down but I thought I'd try some backwards 😉

Edit to add: Any ideas/tips/tricks for reinforcing the heels and bottoms of the feet? This kid is hard on socks.

I have these shorty socks that have been laying around for honestly l-have-no-idea-how-long-but-the-yarn-was-purchased-in-2020-and-so-was-the-pattern. They were languishing in the middle of the slip-stitch arch support band. I’ve finished the band and am working on the rest of the foot before the toe. So close to done with the toe of my second Hiking Boot Sock! These will be ready for finishing - weaving in ends, blocking - for the #fallfinishalong in September. Meanwhile, Jules is unimpressed.
