On the train home from #SoCraTes2023.

After this years focus on getting back to sub 10 minute cycle times for commit to prod, I want to explore how to go to the second range again without giving up the good parts.

Got some good pointers but talk is cheap. Polish your pipelines and bring them next time. Kata building fast pipelines. Beat our bestest for fame and specialty coffee or a bottle of whiskey.

Starting a new project is probably the most drastic way of getting thrown back into the real world after #SoCraTes2023. But the weather is nice, I’m listening to my favourite playlist on my way there and I feel the inspiration of the last few days flowing through me. 😅 Let’s do this!

I am incredibly grateful to everyone who came and helped to make it such a wholesome and uplifting experience, yet again.

I‘m back home from @SoCraTes_Conf and I‘d say it was maybe the first tech conference that I really and thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you everyone, especially the organizers and helpers, of course.

Leaving #SoCraTes2023 very happy that I managed to fit it into my itinerary for this Germany trip. As usual, many great conversations with old and new friends. Thanks everyone!

Had a nice Heidesprinter ride exchanging stories about train rides in different countries and the annoying fiscal benefits for car drivers. Now on an ICE train where I gave up my window seat to a couple that had reserved the aisle seats. Meh. Going to enjoy some quiet reading time anyways. It was a great #SoCraTes2023, can’t wait to be back next year!

Awesome session by Woody Zuill about failure to communicate. “Collaboration over communication and coordination” is the main takeaway, but the way we got there was so much fun! 🤩

Today at #SoCraTes2023 I was introduced to The Dot Game (https://github.com/michelgrootjans/dot-game), an easy to play simulation game that shows how work flows through a system and what effects policies like WIP limits have.

Can't wait to spread this at my company, our clients, and beyond!
