1) Following the release of the Audit Office's report into 'Waste levy and grants for waste infrastructure' which showed that less than 15% of revenue collected from the NSW Waste Levy is being spent on waste management, will the Government review this spending in order to allocate more funds to waste management?

2) What is the Government doing to build #softplastic recycling facilities here in New South Wales to reduce our state's reliance on overseas and interstate #recycling facilities?

Here’s a newsflash: REDcycle did not recycle a single piece of soft plastic.
If nothing else, the REDcycle collapse has highlighted the complexity of recycling. And it has been a wake up for us all to reduce the unnecessary consumption of all types of plastic

@GrumpyPenguin same in Queensland. This urgently needs a fix. So much is now made from recycled plastics . There has to be a solution. I will continue to stockpile and not put it in the bin.

@KarenMzk Totally agree. I have the little cloth bags for my fruit and veg, but it's the incidental soft plastic like on meat/fish packaging, choc wrappers, biscuits, the neck bands on drink bottles. It's endless. I just don't want it. I need ideas how to get my voice heard and get it stopped now that #woolworths and #coles aren't recycling it. Shame on them #SoftPlastic #recycle

We used to be able to #recycle #softplastic here in Australia. It was part of our routine to take a bag of soft plastic back to Coles/Woolies every fortnight.

Now this option is no longer in the table as REDcycle is not longer running this program. I am feeling increasingly anxious of letting go all these plastic to landfill. It's quite a lot of plastic generated just by one household.

Anyone out there feeling the same? Any creative ideas of what to do with it?

Does anyone know where we can #recycle #SoftPlastic waste in #Melbourne - now that #Woolies (and ? #Coles too) have ceased supplying bins for it?

I've found neatly flattening and then folding my soft plastic drastically reduces its volume and our 3 person household has produced ~5L in 3 months? A good option if you don't want to buy vac bags
