Personally I have a tendency to focus more on "get something working now" and deal with the rest later.
I've learned to listen to my "ick radar" more. This is the internal squickyness meter you get when explaining the new design to someone else. The bit where you say "this bit ain't great".

Why are we still assuming reliable power is a thing users have?
Here in #Canada we've had yet another demonstration it cannot be relied on.
