New year, new #SolarCan mounted on a friend's house to soak up a year's rays.

Lots of tape, staples, cable ties, as it's in a really windy location, and last year's version slipped a bit...

Another #Solarcan exposure, from mid-July to end 2022, NT, Australia.
There's some water ingress, paper creasing and a ghost of the Solarcan sticker for flavour.
The sun lines show plenty of clear sky and there's a reasonable capture of the buildings.

On the last day of 2022 I installed two cameras at the back of my house.

One will take approximately 525,600 pictures, one every minute. ffmpeg will do the job of compiling them into collages and videos.

The other is a #solarcan and will take 1 exposure for the whole year.

Solstice (summer) to solstice (winter).
A 6-month exposure of the arc of the sun, sunrise to sunset, over a New Jersey salt marsh, across Little Egg Harbor Bay toward Long Beach Island. This image was made using a #Solarcan pinhole camera mounted on a utility pole June 21 and retrieved December 21. ( My 3rd seasonal effort — I never tire of our place in the universe.)

It's the #solstice so I've just developed my #SolarCan images and put some new ones up.

These are pinhole cameras for #astrophotography that take a long exposure to record the track of the #Sun across the sky each sunny day. These have been up since the summer solstice in June.

The first one is from the front of the house with the neighbour's house opposite visible on the right of the image.

The other one is pointing along the row of back gardens, with houses either side.

@eaglekepr do you know what is the aperture on this #SolarCan?
