I think I'm going to be combining a lot of journal RPG elements with OSR-like philosophies while abstracting out certain details that slow play down. Came in the post this afternoon. Absolutely gorgeous book.

Feels like just last week I was cobbling together a #SoloRPG with the 0.12 beta release.

Going on a trip to a cabin with no Internet and planning to use minimal/no screens for anything. Just a chance to disconnect and spend time with my family.
I am going to sneak in some me time and just trying to decide what physical book I'll take for some #soloRPG writing. Maybe a hexcrawl guide like Basilisk Hills or the hexcrawl toolkit from the same publisher? Myabe one of the many beautiful and interesting OSE adventures I've picked up but haven't cracked open yet? Or maybe just Maze Rats?

OMG Village Witch by Kestrel Eliot on Itch.io has text only versions of both the game and card lists, though the card list is missingthe 16-21 of Major Arcana, the PDF reads well enough to snag that info. I've had this solo journalling game for awhile now and never looked at it. You can use normal cards or tarot to play. I think I may give this one a whirl and seems light enough to not be boggy. 1 d6 and a deck of cards to play, that's it. #TTRPG #SoloRPG #Writing

And... my Into the Odd party of 4 walked into a room where a gate closed behind us. We were lured in by lots of tools that looked very useful! We tried shoving an eight foot iron bar tied to a shovel under the gate and prying it up with a barrel for leverage but no joy... Just a broken shovel.

The adventure book (In Search of the Unknown) says it will take hours and make a lot of noise if we use the saws in the room. Hmm... #soloRPG

@thoughtpunks have you had any reports of the #motif engine being used to run Burning Wheel as a #solorpg ?

I’ve been doing #SoloRPG so have the #MythicGMEmulator, which is a table that gives you yes/no answers in place of a GM. There are also tables which give you an adjective and noun phrase, that you use as a prompt for ideas.

Random tables will provde other events/encounters/items etc

I think the #GMLess game will be similar to the #SoloRPG but easier as there will be another player to bounce off.
