Despite people suggesting the game has a lot going on, I am finding #TwilightInscription to be a fairly relaxing game. Not at all like TI4, but if you take it at face value, then I quite like it. #boardgames #soloboardgames

Game 2 of #JohnCompany solo went much worse. I rolled four Events in India for each of the first two turns, resulting in most of the subcontinent being closed off and what small foothold I had being overrun by a Foreign Invasion. The rest of the game was largely trying to stop The Crown from tanking the company, which ended in bankruptcy in spite of my efforts. I just couldn't fill enough orders to make up for those early losses.

It only took the whole night, but I made it through my first solo game of #JohnCompany. The original plan was just to set it up and read the rules, but, well, y'know.

I played on easy, which is good because it's the only reason I won. I'll have to be better about managing the favor cubes the next time I play.

My partner picked up #FinalGirl a while back, so I got myself the #Alien pack for it, #IntoTheVoid. Just finished my first playthrough. I feel like I got incredibly lucky with my events and items, which led to a fairly easy victory.

The xenomorph only managed one kill, then climbed into a vent and stayed there until the final moments of the game, only to drop down as the escape pod door slammed shut and the self destruct countdown hit zero.

I’ve been working on playing new games 8-10 times in quick succession after I realized that this helped to solidify the rules in my head and make it more likely that I’ll play them again.

This game is #maquis which is a solo, worked placement game with a puzzley vibe. The theme comes through very well and I have really enjoyed my last ten plays.

I realised I’d only beaten the AI on the first adventure of #WelcomeToTheMoon so, since all my real life board game opponents were incapacitated last night, I tried again against Alexei on adventures 2 & 3. My first play through of #OneDeckDungeon was damn exciting. It all came down to the last throw and even then I had to use the right combination of skills to turn the dice in my favour. Very excited to play more and take on my first campaign #SoloBoardGames #BoardGames
