My copy of @MontfordTales' Dead Letter Society showed up today. I haven't gotten a chance to read through it yet (I've been waiting for the print edition) but it looks fantastic. Strong layout, sharp art, the colors strike a consistent tone. #soloClub

Recently finished the Solo Game Master's Guide by Gamer Geeks and have to say that I loved it.

I've dabbled in solo gaming, but have found it hard to keep the plot interesting, and most random tables just didn't help that much.

This guide gave me plenty of simple hacks to make it enjoyable with any game.

One simple idea made so much sense to me: create the environment before you create your character.

#SoloClub I'm finding that playing solo rpgs using the MGME is rather slow. Like, one scene that would take 10 minutes in a normal game takes an hour slow.

Do yall have recommendations or games that speed things up?

I mean, I love rolling dice but this is also true.

This reminds me of all the time I spend generating Traveler characters, the stories that played out in my head as I generated their careers.

@SymbolicCity That just threw me down a series of rabbit holes. An interesting idea, although I'm more inclined to try to apply it in Obelisk rather than in actual paper notebooks.

Although I guess part of the satisfaction of a #soloClub game might be to capture it with pen an paper...

The big thing keeping a lot of games from being my carry-along solo game is the variety of dice they require. I could just use a dice roller app, I know, but I'd prefer to stay as analog as possible, without having to carry around a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 and d20 just to cover every possible situation. #soloClub problems.

Inspired by #SoloClub I have aquired a physical copy of Ironsworn to dive into. I have been meaning to play it for years and have tried to read the digital version a few times. I just need physical books to read at this size though or ai can't get on reading them.
