#WhatsApp is the de facto standard #messenger here in Germany. My #privacy choice to #deletewhatsapp meant my partner had to deal with school, neighborhood, club, and other comms #soloparenting style. After 3 years I found a way to use WA pseudonymously without giving access to my contacts, location, etc so I can #coparent better.

I feel guilty. I still tell people I'm not available on WA to keep my little bit of social pressure up, but it's not the same.

Single parents doing the job of two people usually by no fault of their own. Nobody has kids with someone to raise them by themselves. It’s hard work and if your kids happen to be neurodivergent then it’s even harder. If you’re on your own and you’re raising kids, in a perfect world you would have the help of your community but if you’re in a place where you don’t have family or relatives, you’re basically alone. So, when people want to judge other people’s parenting or their children’s behaviour, you need to remember to always be kind. Nothing says freedom quite like a new passport. This one took 144 days, over 30 phone calls to the passport office and bringing in 3 Federal MPs to finally get it done. Why did it take so long? Because I’m a solo parent and the government doesn’t consider me to be a ‘full parent’. If they had just asked the only person that matters (Ms 10) she’d say I’m far more than just a full parent! #soloparenting #bureaucracysucks

I’ve been #soloparenting since this afternoon until bedtime. It’s 9pm and I’m absolutely exhausted. How parents can have more than one child is beyond me. I’m utterly depleted and could not even think to handle another child. It also taught me a lesson that there is an advantage to have kids younger in your late 20s or early 30s, bc at 40+ you’re just too damn tired. 😵‍💫 And no, we don’t have help, we’ve been without any outside help from the beginning, so you can imagine 🫠

You have no idea how much bureaucracy is involved in one young kid's life. Guess who does everything? Yeah, I rarely see a father on that.
