The oldest #ttrpg I’ve played was the red #D&DBasicSet. Played the first time in 1988 5th grade. My BFs older brother was a “New Waver” he wore a beret. In is room was a massive trove of rpg books. Seemed like the entire #TSR library! Borrowed the basic set and poured over the rules and art. I was instantly consumed with obsession. Playing the tutorial solo adventure in the front of the book is the memory that ac#OSRl-lifer and why I’m still chasing with #solorpgs today!

I have started a game of Fortuna Mythica and I plan to post that soon.

From there, I plan to post on a Heckadeck remix of that game as well as remixes for other card games and solo RPGs like Wrenched and Alone.

Games I already have and tried out a bit are Delve, a map-drawing/tower-defense game, and Apothecaria, "A village witch solo journalling RPG set in a Ghibli inspired cosy fantasy world."

I had a really good time this morning during #SoloStorytellingSunday. Haven't really played any #SoloRPGs in a while (really only play them while #streaming most of the time, so my hiatus has meant no playing), and it was so nice to get back into it!

I love how game techniques can be a way of exploring a story in a way that can challenge your ideas and expectations. I have been playing #solorpgs during the loneliness covid lockdown.

@Shaman Yes. And I think people are slowly realizing (at least I am) how absolutely self-indulgent you can be in #solorpgs. You don't have to compromise with anyone, you can do exactly, and WHATEVER you want.

@YUMDM @LeviKornelsen Those are both good points. I keep forgetting how liberating #solorpgs are - you can do WHATEVER you want, you don't have to limit yourself to traditional #ttrpg activities. Also yes, I'd love to see more rules for dungeon management. If only... if only there was a content creator who could do something like that... ? Perhaps, I dunno, in zine format... ? *wink wink*
