@pentney @morachbeag Every time they notice one, the city shuts it down. Every city wants to punish people for being #homeless or push them out to be #SomebodyElsesProblem, as if that fixes things. If you want people to stop being homeless, put them in homes! If you want them to support themselves, give them a chance to recover from hard times.

One issue is #moderation which federation doesn't really solve, only compartmentalise. #SomebodyElsesProblem.

Of greater interest is #interoperability. Can be handled if you you make a #platform like Mastodon, but what if you just want to make a federated service (like mentioned @photos)? Is the bother greater than the benefit?
