Great Albums – 1970s: #ToddRundgren – #SomethingAnything (1972). Three sides of this double LP are Todd alone at home, hardly less full than the studio tracks on Side 4. Hits, “I Saw the Light” and “Hello It’s Me,” intersperse with bristling rockers like “Couldn’t I Just Tell You,” plus cheesy synth experiments, a tutorial on bad recording, and juvenilia from Todd’s early years in Nazz. Inconsistent, sprawling, individual—like Todd himself.
