As I scramble to do the finishing touches of the first version of the first release of our first #indiegame I must say I understand.

I understand crunch.
I understand obsession.
I understand bugs.

I understand putting out something you KNOW could be better if you just had infinite time.

This is all ironic given the themes of #somnipathygame

But oh I finally REALLY get it.

Wow this is my last wishlist Wednesday. After this no more begging for wishlists for Somnipathy. End of a era off me, that for sure. Next Wednesday I'm sure to be knee deep in enough bugs to make me regret ever doing #gamedev, but this week... Just polish and testing.

I joke that #SomnipathyGame is an allegory for making the #game Somnipathy... the game is about the #horror that keep you awake at night; the challenges of the day, the #fear of the evening. But doing a longer term project with friends, with no guarantee of success or even notice... now that is a #horrorgame .

Finally got around to changing the shop in our #indiegame #somnipathygame from a #visualnovel interface to it's own dedicated custom #ui. It's still a wip but it's a pretty massive usability upgrade.

Arcade WIP for #SomnipathyGame! Right now its just for a cutscene... but whenever I see one of these in a game I get disappointed if you can't actually play the machines. Anyone else get that way?

I'm not sure time will allow it, but we'll see... not like I don't have 12 months worth of mini games not doing anything...

These days I help keep Dialogic 1.x maintained as I finish up Somnipathy, and I can't wait to assist in the Dialogic 2.x development. It is probably no exaggeration to say that we would not be releasing Somnipathy in 2 months if it weren't for @Emi and the community he built and fostered.

The ability to join something, learn with it, and grow with it has been invaluable.

Being able to use Dialogic 2.0 when I switch to Godot 4 is something I am looking forward to! While Dialogic is pretty handy to use, the improvements in Dialogic 2 sound pretty great. Not to mention all the upgrades that come with Godot 4 itself!

Now that I am here, an #introduction would be in order. I sidestepped my way into #gamedev when my friend @Tearcell mentioned they were participating in a #ludumdare game jam and asked if I was interested in helping. That weekend was my first taste of #programming. It was also my introduction to the @godotengine and the crazy magic that are #shaders, which I still don't really understand. 4 game jams later, found on itch.io, and we are now working on releasing #somnipathygame on #steam!
