Perhaps one of the best songs of the past two century’s, today we have a wonderful song for you
Enjoy!
It's time for another #song share #SongShare !!!
This song has wiggled its way into my heart recently. I just love the Avantasia lead singer's voice so much here, the highest notes give me chills! I'm not sure how I would classify the genre but I love it!
Let me know if you like it, or if you have any recommendations yourself! 💙
I promise #SongShare will return next week - still recovering from the holidays/illness/etc.
My Daily #SongShare has been on pause lately as I have come down with something, and not feeling well.
So today's return is definitely on point...enjoy the pun, and if you find your head bouncing, you've caught the illness too.

Not much to say today, but posting an amazing version of Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds playing "Lie in our Graves. Dave and Tim always bring it, and this is no exception.

A recent discovery for me is Hip-Hop by Dead Prez which I only discovered because of the documentary Hip-Hop Evolution on Netflix. It’s the title track, and instantly caught my attention because of the infectious groove.

Going back to the basics today with some Gregory Alan Isakov and The Stable Song. This is a Spotify Discover Weekly find for me, that really resonated. I love the acoustics, harmonization, and general “rough, but polished” feel that the track had.

Trampled by Turtles is a relatively newer band for me, and I haven’t heard a lot of their songs. However, when I first heard “Wait So Long” I immediately loved it. It’s definitely bluegrass, with a punk rock flair, and I can get into that.
Enjoy!

Who can’t appreciate some aspect of George Clinton and Funkadelic? Today we’ll try to impact you a bit, and go straight for your emotions with Maggot Brain. Eddie Hazel (guitar) rips deep into you from the very beginning, and then continues the journey inward for a solid 10 minutes. One of the greatest solos ever.

Continuing today with the Jazz theme, I'm sharing with you a collaboration between one of my favorites, Count Basie, and the great Ella Fitzgerald.
This is "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" which I am sure everyone recognizes. Before posting this though, I didn't realize how extensively this song has been covered. More about it at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream_a_Little_Dream_of_Me
Ella and Count really put together a gem with this one. Enjoy!

I’m posting in a hurry today, and my hectic schedule today really reminds me that it’s time to unwind later with some classic Cannonball Adderley. Who Cares? (Take 4) is definitely worth a listen.
So sit back, relax, and listen to some smooth jazz courtesy of Cannonball.

Pearl Jam is one of those bands close to my heart. They are extremely fan-friendly, and have embraced the Dead's "No Show The Same" policy. They continue to release concert recordings, studio albums, solo projects, and even a Cameron Crowe documentary film..a great watch (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearl_Jam_Twenty)
They've been making great music for 33 years.
So today, I bring you "Elderly Woman Behind The Counter of a Small Town" Live (2013) Alberta, CA.

Straight from Iceland, we have a great song today from Of Monsters and Men. I have absolutely no idea how I first encountered this band...I know it was NOT Spotify. In any case, I am glad I did. The beautiful harmonies on their debut album, from which this song starts things off, is definitely worth a listen.

Oh, and they also did a wonderful rendition for Blogotheque at https://youtu.be/YWcs-kHCveQ

Time to slow things down, and emphasize that "eclectic" bit I told you about when I started..
My Brightest Diamond did a piece for Blogothèque of her song "I Have Never Loved Someone". The intimacy of how it was captured here is stunning, and the acoustics...I want to be in that café when she is singing to absorb it.
Check out Blogothèque's YT channel at https://www.youtube.com/@blogotheque for some truly unique musical moments.

Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails have undeniably been the most important musical influence on me personally. Even more so recently, as he branches out to Movie soundtracks. Trent is such a pragmatic composer, and always full or surprises.
So today we're going with a classic: The Becoming by Nine Inch Nails. If you've never heard it, you're in for a treat. If you've never listened to the entire The Downward Spiral album, it is an amazing ride.

Going in another direction today, to one of my favorites. Rancid's Daly City Train is definitely a landmark for me for the band. Rancid in general is a staple in my own life.
I remember hearing this from a friend at one point, getting a taped copy of the album, and wearing it down until it couldn't be played anymore. It resonated with a young me for whatever reason, and was my introduction to Punk in general.
Any Punk Rock fans out there?
