Once again I was drawn to photograph a waterfall; one of so many on Vancouver Island. This is a great time of year for waterfall photography, as there is generally still lots of water flowing and the weather is improving.

This long exposure (2 minutes 15 seconds) creates a Sea of Dreams feel to the image. I found this site on my drive through the Olympic peninsula as I returned from my Oregon coast trip. It’s nice to come across these surprise scenes on the drive.

I took my photography club out today to get some practice using filters for creative results. This is a 25 second shot, using a ND 1000 (10 stop) Kase magnetic e view is looking south from Vancouver Island, towards the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state.

You might not believe it, but this is Niagara Falls. It’s not the one most people know, however, it is the one located in the lush, green rainforest on Vancouver Island. You need to view this large to see the whole falls in detail, and if you do, you will notice what looks like a petrified dragon (or maybe just an oddly shaped log) at the base of the falls.
