Pretty pleased with myself. I chopped the code complexity of my GitHub actions + docker-compose + watchtower deployment strategy in half. I also replaced a bunch of hard to read jq scripts and stringly-typed ruby hashes with a small pile of Sorbet structs.

Now it loads the config in one place, reifies it into a struct, and then passes that struct around as needed rather than re-parsing every time.

Over the past year or so I've been building out a #Ruby struct class at work built on top of #Sorbet. It's gotten a little out of hand, but it really streamlines a lot of common cases that we find ourselves experiencing in our #Rails app.

Yesterday I added a feature a little bit like #Golang's json syntax spruced up with the ability to extract attributes using a JSONPath expression.

Would this be something people might be interested in seeing open sourced?

I didn't like #Ruby #Sorbet at first, but it's growing on me. The tooling for VSCode at least is quite good.

Subscribing to #sorbet hashtag for #ruby #sorbet is an unexpected win, also get lots of nice looking real sorbet in my feed

Ok - I was today years old when I discovered that sorbet is just seeded/stemmed fruit frozen and run through the blender with sugar and citrus juice.

Now Im freezing every fruit I have in my fridge to see how it tastes.

Blueberry Sorbet

600 g blueberries
200 g sugar (sugar syrup)
1 lemon, juice of
1 jigger gin

Mix everything in a bowl using a blender, until smooth. Optionally pass mixture through a sieve, which is an excellent way to spread blue stains around.

Freeze with ice machine, alternatively put mixture into freezer, stir well every 30 minutes or so until consistency is good.
