Meet crossed with (Magnolia denudata × Magnolia liliiflora), the saucer magnolia or aka the tulip tree, is a hybrid flowering plant in the genus .

This was snapped this morning in .

It is a deciduous tree with large, early-blooming flowers in various shades of white, pink, and purple.

It is one of the most commonly used magnolias in horticulture and obviously grows (and flowers prolifically) well here in too!

Just lovely.

I’ve also pickled some today.

I have a beautiful white-pink magnolia tree () in my garden, so I collected the opening buds that fell when I was working, and pickled them (white wine vinegar, sugar, a pinch of salt) this evening.

Raw or pickled they have a / taste. Goes really well with in case you were wondering.

Not quite , but close enough. 🙂
