Meet #Magnolia crossed with #Soulangeana (Magnolia denudata × Magnolia liliiflora), the saucer magnolia or aka the tulip tree, is a hybrid flowering plant in the genus #Magnolia.
This was snapped this morning in #ormond #Australia.
It is a deciduous tree with large, early-blooming flowers in various shades of white, pink, and purple.
It is one of the most commonly used magnolias in horticulture and obviously grows (and flowers prolifically) well here in #Melbs too!
Just lovely.

I’ve also pickled some #magnolia today.
I have a beautiful white-pink magnolia tree (#soulangeana) in my garden, so I collected the opening buds that fell when I was working, and pickled them (white wine vinegar, sugar, a pinch of salt) this evening.
Raw or pickled they have a #ginger / #pepper taste. Goes really well with #cheese in case you were wondering.
Not quite #forgaging, but close enough. 🙂
