And now I've finished #SoulHackers2!
Managed to beat the final boss on my first attempt without using any Original Flames.
I'm sure spending all my money on COMP upgrades just before the battle helped.
I thought it was a good game overall. I saw more similarities between it and Tokyo Mirage Sessions than the original Soul Hackers, but I enjoyed TMS so that was cool with me.
I gotta admit, the true ending almost jerked some tears outta me, but I'm 'weak' to that kind of shit.
I've been really good at not getting new PC games. I've only purchased 2 since 2021, #SoulHackers2 when it came out in August of last year and #FinalFantasyVIIRemake when it came to Steam in June.
That said, I'm currently itching to get a new one.
I'm interested in #Persona5Strikers but I think I'd rather get a turn-based RPG, preferably something that looks modern.

I've been working on side quests in #SoulHackers2 recently. Only have a few Aion Directives left.
Decided to give the Hozumi battle another attempt today. I've been stuck at him for months but I managed to win pretty easily this time!
I also was able to get the points I needed to bring everyone's soul level above 100, so I have some things to do before I enter the ending stage of the game.
I've been making good progress in the first #SoulHackers, too. I'd like to finish it just before SH2.
Started #SoulHackers2 and couldn't get past the first two hours, such a badly paced opening and an eyesore of a UI. Uninstalled.
This is the third MegaTen game I've tried, maybe starting with Persona 5 was a mixed blessing, nothing's lived up to it so far.
I started playing the 3DS version of Devil Summoner: #SoulHackers via emulation at the end of 2020 and picked up #SoulHackers2 when it released the past August.
I'm pretty close to the end of SH2 but had been progressing at a very slow place in SH1 until I got a New 3DS for Christmas and now I'm trying to finish the first game before the second.
I was taking a break from SH2 but recently I've been working on completing all the game's side content.
Both games are excellent in my opinion.
Just got called "frail" by a unicorn, cause I wouldn't give it some of my hp lmao.
Dude, I'm 10 levels higher than you.
Lots of #SoulHackers2 spoilers in this video, but this guy has infinite patience and just... wow at all of this

Stuff like this is why I love turn-based combat #RPG games... there's *so much* strategy that goes into planning that I'd argue far eclipses "hit buttons in real time to attack and dodge" systems
Please tell me they aren't putting mayo on the pizza...this isn't very cyberpunk.
I really appreciate when games support cross-save. It was a nice surprise when I found out I could play Soul Hackers 2 on the PC and Xbox with the same save. I usually don't see it much on third party games. #SMT #SoulHackers2 #Xbox
#NowPlaying one of the best games of 2022 and an absolutely stellar OST, #SoulHackers2
I smell a new This Week in Game Pass coming...

"Just rely on your demons to pick up key items"
This seems like a pretty bad idea, just saying. Unless I'm missing something and running around the dungeon for no reason. But hey...one of my demons gave me a record player for a new hangout!
Finally have access to fusion, but now I miss Mary. 🥲
Goumaden isn't the same without her, but I shall persevere.
Has anyone played #SoulHackers2? I was excited at first, but after a few hours of play found it to be repetitive and boring. Nothing about the story is compelling enough to dungeon grind for it.
( #SoulHackers2 thoughts continued... )
I'm remembering now how let down I was by the final dungeon and bosses in #Persona5
Don't get me wrong... it was still a great and emotional moment, but somehow it didn't feel quite... right? Like it wasn't believable given the world that had been constructed
(I think Royal fixes a lot of that problem)
Also how anticlimactic the final boss of Grandia 2 was because it just felt like a huge (difficulty and mechanical) letdown after much more interesting battles
Soul Hackers 2 did everything right in its story, and the final boss was simultaneously the most unexpected but also the most obvious thing that could have happened, and the battle itself is handled beautifully
The smaller party from the beginning also makes a difference, because it *feels* more like a true set of friendships that have developed over many trials and tribulations together
Just ugh... such a good experience, and I'm glad I did it 😍
Okay, #SoulHackers2 has been beaten and...
Oh my god that ending
I think this is the best JRPG ending (and best and most satisfying and sensical final boss, from a story standpoint) since Skies of Arcadia
The characters are amazing, the final scenes had me in tears, and it is extremely fitting that the game ends the way it started: With a soul hack
Even the scenes at the ends of the fourth floors of the Soul Matrix were great (although it was terrible getting there)
Overall, if we ignore the existence of the Soul Matrix, I think this game is very, very good... like 9/10 good for me, in large part thanks to the characters, the late game plot twist, and then the ending (including final boss)
Soul Matrix probably knocks it down to 6/10 (especially because you really want to do it for the ally skills)
Still, I recommend you get it if you like RPGs... my save reports something like 36 hours played (including most but not all sidequests), so it's about the length I'd expect too
Ahhhhh that plot twist! #SoulHackers2
This game is so much more enjoyable now that I'm not worrying about the Soul Matrix anymore 😂
Okay, I've finally fully explored all of the fourth floors of all three Soul Matrices in #SoulHackers2, and.... ugh
So I really want to love this game
And I do *like* it
I actually am really enjoying the story (so far, especially its plot twists), the combat is actually interesting and reasonably engaging, the progression (exp balance, demon unlocks, skills) seems really solid, the characters are well-developed, and the game as a whole is really pretty
But I can't get over that sinking feeling I feel every time the "The Soul Matrix has expanded" message pops up, because I know it means another hugely grindy dungeon (times 3)... and floors four were the worst yet with one-way warps everywhere, most of which are useless and make you run back and memorize what you've already taken and... ugh no
Anyway, unless there's a floor five, I think I'm full speed ahead on the actual plot dungeons now, so hopefully I'm left with a much better final impression as I finish the game over the next few days 😅
