Interloper 5 took a different turn. I think irl Anomidae is trying to escape the initial format of "Heres stuff i found, compiled into an ARG analysis video" used in Interloper 1 through 3 and shift towards "Heres stuff i found, now its your ARG to solve". Were no longer being spoonfed conclusions.

Before settling here, I was briefly considering applying to be on idtech.space - a more #gaming focused Mastodon instance with a focus on... Well, #idTech games and their derivate engines ( #sourceengine , Call of Duty, so on)... But it got me thinking about something.
When do two engines divulge far enough from each other, such that calling them derived from each other is basically wrong? The CoD engine, for example, has seen 9 major updates since forking from #idTech3 - is it still idTech?

The program VTFEdit is a very popular tool for converting between images and VTF files, but there are alternatives:
VTEX and VTF2TGA are Valves own tools for file conversion. They are command-line programs and are annoying to use.
VTFEdit Reloaded was recently made to fix a certein bug with VTFEdit: Converting a VTF to an image would tint the texture green.
Here is a chart showing how much a simple gradient image is tinted by each tool:
