forges such as #github, #gitea, and #forgejo should remove stars since the concept of stars is the same as the concept of likes in social media. it will create a false sense of trust and legitimacy to that project. if you really like a project, you can just bookmark it from your browser or take note of it.

Does #gemini repeat the mistake of #http in that host lookups don’t support/involve #DNS SRV records? It certainly looks like it, if the custom domain setup docs found on #Sourcehut represent the standard Gemini hosting provider model :-( gemini://srht.site/custom-domains.gmi

One thing I hate in #git is that send-email does not provide a way to resume sending patches to mailing list. Today while sending them my internet started being unstable and guess what happened? I sent incomplete series of patches and had to resend them, now with RESEND tag. I don't want to spam mailing list and hence I need your advice how to cope with this problem.

Stumbled upon this post I wrote a few years ago (2020) about "small is beautiful" applied to architecture and web system development. Still love those ideas and concepts, will probably reuse this approach and my `tulip` #lua framework for other projects.

@blainsmith A fantastic read and your reasons for #Sourcehut have certainly made me consider looking into it again. You're right that the git send-email is intimidating if you've not used it before but there's only one way to resolve that and that's by trying it I suppose.

After spending a lot of time on Github Actions at work, I wanted to experiment with #Sourcehut 's simpler, cleaner approach to automated builds with its own builds.sr.ht.

So I set out to automate my blog's updates for every new git commit in my Sourcehut project.
