What about Sourcetree? Anyone still use that? I’ve used it for so long that I was nostalgic for the old logo so made this one. It’s a little crusty if you zoom in but at standard sizes the flaws are unnoticeable. #Sourcetree #icon

Git clients (#GitTower, #GithubDesktop, #Sourcetree, etc.) are all so poorly designed I may have to make my own to get my job done effectively 😈

After years of using #Sourcetree I have finally decided to upgrade to #GitKraken. The deciding factor was SSH integration and customization. Paying $60/yr for a fancy Git client is reasonable for the extra features.

After several failed tries to connect #sourceTree with #Github using ssh, a friend guided me to use Github access tokens as a password in sourceTree and it worked! I am very Happy for that!

Yeah! I finally figured out how to configure #Sourcetree to send MR to the repo on Gitlab.com. 😆

Although Sourcetree says it supports #Gitlab, the configuration is not trivial at all. I hacked it a bit for this.

With this power, it will be very helpful for non-coder teams to collaborate using git.

Every person at work who's not terribly familiar with #Git keeps asking what client I use whenever I mention I'm not using #Sourcetree and I sincerely want to recommend #Magit to them; it really is one of the best and intuitive (over you memorize some of the shortcuts) clients I've seen (though, granted, I haven't tried many).

But it still feels unfair to them since it definitely favors a work routine that's very keyboard focused and not used by most of their peers.
