I popped along to Falmer today. It's better known now as the home of our local football team (and two universities), but the original village dates back to Saxon times and at one time was part of the estate of Anne of Cleves and then Thomas Cromwell. The current church was erected in 1817, but the site is much older. Behind is a 13th century barn, one of the largest of that age still in use. #Falmer #Brighton #SouthDowns #AnneOfCleves #ThomasCromwell

I'm slowly cleaning up my profile on the bird site and came across this sunset taken a few years ago from my garden. The view is across the valley towards Brighton Racecourse on the edge of the south downs.
