A VIRTUAL TOUR OF SCOTLAND

By popular demand we travel the length of South Uist and cross the South Ford causeway to the island of Benbecula. The image shows the causeway, which replace a bridge in 1982 which, in turn, replaced the ford in 1942. The island's name comes from Beinn na Faoghla, meaning "The Mountain of the Fords".
