NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR SPETEMBER 7, 2023:
The #Northland will remain mostly cloudy Wednesday night, with some #lake #effect light #showers possible along the #SouthShore as lows drop to the 40s.
Skies will clear Thursday with #temperatures reaching the lower half of the 60s. #Winds will remain light, but the #LakeSuperior shorelines could remain a bit choppy.

I’m a settler who grew up in the Ottawa Valley and my family are #FrenchCanadian and #Irish who come from Quebec. I identify myself with #socialecology, #ancom, #peasantanarchist, and #agrariansyndicalist movements.
I am a #PhD candidate in the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa, and I hope to finish writing my thesis this summer (#phdlife). My studies focus on #neoMarxist, #anarchist, and #decolonial approaches to #AgrarianPoliticalEconomy and #PoliticalEcology. I am specifically investigating historical patterns of #farmland distribution from 2000 to 2017 in #easternOntario through the use of property transfer records mapped using #QGIS. I am hoping to apply my method in Mikmaki next.
I am also a #garlic #farmer preserving as many varieties as I can. I have training in #agroecology, #organic, and #permaculture approaches to #horticulture. #SouthShore family is fuming after a bus driver told a 12-year-old student to speak #French and said it was disrespectful to speak to him in #English.
It happened Friday when the driver was taking several children, who are #neurodiverse, to school.
Amanda Mullan says her daughter, Maddison Schmidt, lives with #autism and #ADHD. She attends REACH, the only English-language public school for children with #SpecialNeeds on #Montreal's South Shore.

155 followers · 156 posts · Server better.bostonThe MBTA's diversion dump for May is out, and it's a doozy for #Quincy and #SouthShore communities. The red line is being replaced by buses south of JFK/UMass starting at 8:45 PM weekdays starting Monday the 8th (besides the Fr/Mo of Memorial Day).
Also the Old Colony trunk, both the red line and commuter rail, will be closed the 13-14th and 20-21st. It sounds like there may be express buses from Braintree to South Station. And the Greenbush line will run out of Braintree.

Highway 13, the main route along the #SouthShore, is blocked from Port Wing west to a couple miles east of Highway 2. Officially it's County Road P.
#FloodWarning is in effect for the western South Shore through Thursday afternoon.
Basic rule of thumb with any water on roadways "Turn Around, Don't Drown!"
Expect more road closures like this over the next several days.
