I spent Saturday afternoon reading French #GraphicNovel Castle in the Stars by Alex Alice.

Part #Miyazaki, part #Space1889, part #CastleFalkenstein, it's a story about a French scientist who, in 1860s, discovers the existence of aether and builds a baloon/anti-gravity airship for Ludwig of Bavaria.

@Oiselarius it’s Victorian Colonial SF Adventure so everyone’s tech is less advanced so Earthlings can set up colonies. There are highland and lowland Martians who are physically similar but highland Martians have patagium that let them glide. Their powerful culture has collapsed with the ages, while primordial Venus as lizard people who are still savages. (Earth is in the Goldilocks spot for technology and civilization; this triumvirate was common in early SF, and works here.)

Morgen Abend gibt es wieder #space1889 mit #BRP / #cthulu Regeln. Weiter geht es mit der Reise auf dem Mars.

Auch wenn ich kein Fan von #Ulisses bin, finde ich diesen Schritt die neue ORC ins deutsche Recht zu überführen klasse. Laut der Ankündigung soll auch jedes ihrer eigenen Systeme mit einem SRD unter die ORC fallen. Ich hoffe ja das es dann auch für #Space1889 zu treffen wird, so das man ohne Probleme auch eigenes kommerzielles Material dafür veröffentlichen kann.
Gespannt bin ich such wie #pegasusspiele und #uhrwerkVerlag darauf reagieren.

4: First TTRPG you bought from its creator: Well, I have a signed copy of _GURPS Mars_ purchased from the author, so that’s probably it. It’s a great book, BTW, with 4 different lenses on how to use Mars as a game location. GURPS doing what GURPS does best. (I still want to run my “British embassy on Mars as cover for espionage” #Space1889 meets #JamesBond007 game.)

@fdouglaswall I tend to follow systems vice designers. That said, as a #TravellerRPG player I like following designers who are also authors. Reading their books sometimes ties back to #ttrpg. For Traveller that means Marc Miller (Agent of the Imperium has interesting insight into Marc’s Traveller Universe). I also love the military #scifi of Frank Chadwick (Chain of Command is the WW2 Solomons Campaign set in the far future) and of course many of his #steampunk stories from #space1889.

Heute ist ein mieser Tag, eigentlich wollte ich #Space1889 online leiten, aber meine Psyche spielt gerade nicht mit. Die sch.. #Depresssion kickt gerade voll rein. Ich könnte gerade so los heulen dabei sollte ich mich freuen, wir haben den Weihnachtsbaum seit heute, Auto ist durch den Tüv, Weihnachtsessen ist eingekauft usw. My goal was to work through all the #Traveller material for my #RPGHistory on the game, but along the way I also indexed all the other GDW games except Twilight: 2000 (which was just too extensive).

Hope to finish it some day, but for now #Traveller, #2300AD, #Space1889, and #DarkConspiracy fans should find it useful.
