#Alabama residents are gnashing their teeth about the #Biden admin decision to keep #USSpaceCommand in Colorado.

...and maybe it's because I'm a Huntsville native, but I don't entirely blame them. There were very good reasons for housing #SPACECOM in North AL. It's long been a central region for the US space program and missile defense.

But IMO, the blame belongs not with partisan politics or abortion, but with #Trump alone. It was over as soon as he said this in 2021:

"Burt said states that pass laws protecting the unborn or impacting the LGBTQ+ community are threats that should also be considered."

I 100% guarantee that "protecting the unborn" were words that this #Alabama station put into Lt. Gen. Burt's mouth, and she did not say that. This local station just made shit up to fit their agenda. Helping to make the case that AL is bad for today's #military and their families.

Officials: ‘Alabama still preferred location’ for Space Command headquarters

GEN Jim Dickinson gave AL lawmakers some confident, soothing noises about the #USSPACECOM move to Huntsville. It bears reminding that Dickinson is not the decider. However, I know him personally & it is not in his nature to make statements on controversial issues that are not supported all the way up his chain. The talking points would have been pre-reviewed.

Biden admin knows AL is not a safe place for women & girls who are capable of pregnancy. Why send more there, from a safer place? Punish Alabama.
