With the help of #SpeakeasyPrintshop in #Salem, we will be providing 75 unhoused folks in #Boston and #Cambridge with hooded sweatshirts in order to help prepare our community for the fall and winter months ahead. We got a really good deal on the sweatshirts, but this still cost us $1000. We still have some funds left, but it would be awesome if some folks in our community had some money to spare to help us recoup. It was a low key Sunday at the encampment today. We brought the residents a chickpea and potatoes curry with a coconut lemon turmeric and cilantro basmati rice, some long sleeve shirts donated and printed by #SpeakeasyPrintshop propane, PB&J sandwiches, ham sandwiches, some sweaters, a blanket, batteries, soap and a few cases of water. The capitalist system creates the conditions for houselessness. It’s going to take an organized community to solve those problems, which is why we continue to do this work.
