I think the Taiwanese president's visits to Central American allies and transit through the #UnitedStates have occurred dozens of times since 1996. If President Tsai and #SpeakerMcCarthy meet in California, it would be the third time a Taiwanese president has met with the Speaker of the House. These are not particularly newsworthy events.
