Challenge: Begin with a known dinosaur. Come up with a series of speculative evolutionary events that leads to one eye migrating to the opposite side of the body, so that both eyes are on the same side of the body (in adults, not necessarily in juveniles), like a flounder.

Expert Challenge: Begin with a dinosaur that has no aquatic adaptations, and use no aquatic steps throughout the whole evolutionary series.

Why don't these speculative evolution people do more with ? they tend to ignore arthropods, or if they do pay attention to arthropods it's always spiders for some reason. (?) Or at BEST bees.

Bees are very nice. But bees don't have specialization. In one super organism you get as many morphs as you want!

Also, it's *practical* since ants will take over the world someday. It's just wise to consider what that might look like. Be reasonable.

Whenever I see I think of the tribbets from Serina, which is probably my favorite project. Maybe given enough time and a vacuum on land they could achieve tripod locomotion of some sort.

The deer of prey is a carnivorous descendant of the caribou. Although an omnivore, it primarily eats meat and its evolution was kickstarted by horizontal gene transfer from a mountain lion. Bucks are 10% larger than does, and does do not have antlers.

Hi! Just making an introduction as I'm new here. I do (), and I like to see paleo art and wilderness and wildlife art.

I've been fairly inactive on social media, hardly used Twitter for example. Hoping to be more active here!

I'll leave a few examples of my from my personal spec project , about a world seeded twice with Earth life, second time with domestic cats and a few prey. One of these is a gif, so this is a test to see if it works:

Super old design, been through many redos. Aren't they cute? However if you see one you should maybe run, they're very nervous and powerful herbivores.

Titan rhinoceros, an example of terraforming gigantism. This enormous mammal, which outmasses brachiosaurus, thrives across the continent of Africa.

It is a species of black rhinoceros, and has a low body temperature in the mid 80s.

Phtanum B - Sketches of multiple large lactismid specimens. The lactismids are a widespread group of carnivorous, many-legged deuvertebrates characterized by a large number of limbs, primarily used for walking on wobbly biomat ground and bony phalanxes used for prey capture, located at the jaw arm tips.

Sorry but I don't want to think about the absolutely lovecraftian creatures that would have resulted had placoderms become terrestrial.
